Kelly Krause is Creative Director for the international scientific journal Nature in London, where she leads a world-class team of designers, illustrators and media editors. Before joining Nature she was Art Director for Science magazine in Washington, DC. Kelly has worked closely with hundreds of researchers in almost every scientific discipline imaginable to create dynamic, memorable visual content—from research figures to infographics, covers, illustrations and animations. She has oversight of the visual content of the Nature-branded portfolio, currently more than 50 journals.

 

Between her posts at Science and Nature Kelly completed an MA in Design for Development. The program explored how design could be used for social good, with designers of different disciplines working together to address challenges in areas such as health and sustainability, and this continues to be an interest.
